The Indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica - especially the Maya and Aztecs - knew Cacao as a sacred medicine, a gift from the Gods. The Maya called it “kakaw” and used it ceremonially to open the heart and commune with spiritual realms. The Aztecs revered it as the food of Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent deity, a powerful archetype of transformation, wisdom, and the weaving of Earth and Sky.  These lineages understood that Cacao is an Earthly bridge to Love.
