The Maya called it 'kakaw,' a vital force used to sanctify life’s great transitions, from birth to the journey beyond. The Aztecs honoured it as the food of Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent who wove the intelligence of the Sky into the nourishment of the Earth. These lineages understood that Cacao is a living bridge - a dark, bitter, and potent medicine that aligns the human pulse with the rhythm of the Great Mystery.
